One of the best reference books for collectors, because it contains photographs of many of her works with a history and current value for each original reproduction.

  • Book: "Bessie Pease Gutmann: Her Life and Works" (available through Amazon.com) by Victor J. W. Christie, 199 pages, published by Wallace-Homestead Book Co. (December 1990). Because Dr. Christie was a close friend of the Gutmann family, he has written more about Bessie's life story than any other author. Also contains many color photos of Bessie's work. This is a used book (out of print) and getting more rare every day.

  • Book: "My First Prayers" (available through Amazon.com). A pre-school book by Roni Akmon; Nancy Akmon; with illustrations by Bessie Pease Gutmann. 48 pages, published by Blushing Rose Publishing (June 2003).

  • Book: "The Well-Dressed Child: children's Clothing 1820-1940" (available through Amazon.com). This 160-page hardcover book presents a nostalgic look at baby and children's wear from the Victorian Era to the first half of the 20th century.
