Misc: Bessie often "recycled" poses that she liked, and themes that the Gutmann publishing company found were successful. She painted two versions of this title. The first version in 1911 (printed as #311 and #671) had a little girl coming down the stairs in a nightdress with a doll in one hand and the other hand resting on the banister. In this 1940 version, she keeps the same pose, but the child is now coming through a doorway with one hand on the door nob, and the other hand holding a puppy; and the dress has been replaced by a footed sleeper.
