Misc: This image and "A Little Bit of Heaven" (published two years earlier in 1916) were often sold together as a pair. Together, these two prints sold in the millions, making Bessie Pease Gutmann the most published artist in her day (it is because of the large number of prints still in circulation, that these original reproduction prints have one of the lowest auction or resale values). By the 1930's, most children's bedrooms or nurseries had one or both of these prints hanging on the wall. This image (and/or "A Little Bit of Heaven") brings back many feelings of nostalgia, and is the image most often associated with Bessie's work.
